The Barns of Wolf Trap provide a unique setting for seminars, business luncheons, theme events, cocktail parties, wedding ceremonies and receptions. The two 18th-century barns are joined under one roof and offer a rustic charm to make it the perfect event site. The Barns can accommodate up to 350 people. (Parking is limited to 150 spaces.)

It features seven rooms ranging in capacity from 2 to 150 guests and provides over 6,000 square feet of conference space.

Located in Ellanor C. Lawrence Park, just off Interstate 66 and Route 28, Cabell's Mill is easily accessible from downtown Washington, the Dulles corridor and the Centreville/Sterling business districts. Set in picturesque country surroundings, Cabell's Mill offers one spacious room on the upper level, a smaller meeting room on the lower level, two working fireplaces and an expansive terrace overlooking Big Rocky Run. Convenient location combined with a quiet wooded setting makes this site ideal for company retreats, seminars, picnics or other social functions. The banquet room has a capacity of 160; meeting/private dining rooms accommodate up to 40. A 7,100-yard golf course designed by P.B. Dye is available for company or group golf outings.

The Clark House is the surviving architectural remnant of a large dairy farm that operated for more than 50 years in Annandale. Built in 1902 by William Lee Clark, it stands as a reminder of the rural landscape once characteristic of Fairfax County. The house is available for private, corporate and community rental. All of the facilities are located within a charming 19th century railroad town. The newly constructed Community Hall is available for receptions, meetings and special events. The caboose, in the center of town, is also available for small meetings and socials.

The Collingwood Library and Museum on Americanism occupies nine acres of land on the banks of the Potomac River, midway between Alexandria and Mount Vernon on what was part of George Washington's River Farm. The library contains more than 5,000 volumes on American heritage, while the museum houses an eclectic collection of Americana. The building and grounds are available for weddings, receptions and other private functions. An outside reception area can accommodate 200 people; inside capacity is 100 standing or 60 seated.

Coomber Hall, a remodeled dairy barn, retains the same architectural features that characterized it in the days when it was the center of a 550-acre dairy operation. Built in the early 1900s by John Richard McMillen, the barn was remodeled in 1968 by the Coombers and since that time has served as a school of music and dance. The renovated milking parlor has a sprung dance floor (3,000 square feet) and small stage. Limited kitchen facilities are available. There is ample parking. This property is eligible for the National Register of Historical Places. Coomber Hall is available for all types of functions, including weddings, corporate meetings and family reunions.

Situated on 12 acres in McLean, the Dominican Retreat House offers an ideal location for meetings and retreats. Guest accommodations are available for up to 75 for meetings, retreats, seminars and receptions. The dormitory can accommodate 42 overnight guests; an adjacent apartment offers two single bedrooms. The large conference room has a flexible floor plan that can include breakout areas and smaller meetings rooms.

Dranesville Tavern was built in the 1820s and is now a Virginia and National Historic Landmark. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the tavern was a popular stopping place for weary travelers on Leesburg Pike. This former roadside tavern, restored to its mid-19th century appearance, can accommodate 99 people and is conducive to business meetings, retreats and seminars, as well as social events. The Dulles Expo and Conference Center is the second largest exhibit hall in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Located just six miles south of Washington Dulles International Airport, the facility has 240,000 square feet of contemporary meeting space. The complex is located only 10 miles west of the Capital Beltway and three miles north of Interstate 66.

The Executive Conference and Training Center at Tysons Corner, located in McLean, Virginia, offers a comprehensive solution for corporate meetings and training sessions in the Tysons Corner region. This state-of-the-art conference center holds the esteemed International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) designation and is equipped to meet the diverse needs of today's corporate trainers and event planners. The Center features four conference rooms and one boardroom, totaling 5,000 square feet, for your corporate meeting, conference, or training session. Capacities range from 14-60 persons.

The Fairfax Station Museum is a reconstruction of the 1858 building that served as a Civil War Union supply base, field hospital and transport center. The station was the railroad depot for the City of Fairfax until it was closed in 1973. It now serves as a museum housing Civil War, Red Cross and early railroading memorabilia; model train shows; Civil War reenactments; and artistic events. The Station's freight room is available for tours, parties, receptions and meetings. Open Sundays, 1-4 PM and Labor Day 12-5 PM. Tours on request.

Adjacent to the Great Falls Grange, the schoolhouse was built in 1890 and has served as a school, church, library, private residence and post office. Located in Great Falls Grange Park, the Grange Hall is a large multi-purpose structure built for meetings and social events. Built in 1889, the grange served as a center for town meetings, fund-raisers and carnivals. The two-story structure has a stage, kitchen, basement and main hall. Maximum capacity is 200 people. Gunston Hall was built in 1755 by George Mason, framer of the Constitution and father of the Bill of Rights. The contemporary Ann Mason Room, which offers an ideal location for meetings, staff retreats or social functions, has a capacity of 175 people. The Herndon Community Center is an attractive, well-maintained facility containing meeting space available for public rental. The center can accommodate up to 375 people for meetings and sit-down functions. The facility includes a multipurpose room and three meeting rooms. Amenities include kitchen, stage, tables and chairs, piano, AV equipment, and on-duty supervision. The center is just a few miles away from Washington Dulles International Airport, as well as numerous hotels and fine restaurants.

A gracious Georgian-style manor house surrounded by 175-year-old boxwood gardens, Hollin Hall was once part of a 2,000-acre plantation owned by George Mason and is a unique and historic setting for weddings, retreats and business meetings. In addition to the mansion, there is a meeting house that is used for indoor weddings and large receptions. The mansion can accommodate up to 140 people for a standing event; the meeting house can accommodate up to 225 people for a reception. Chairs and tables are included in the rental.

Built on rolling green farmland in 1890, this facility served as the residence of Scottish immigrant John C. Hunter. The property, once a winery, can accommodate 75 people indoors and 200 people, using both the house and grounds. (Smoking is prohibited.)

Industrial Strength Theatre

This "black box" type community theatre is located in an industrial warehouse space. The facility is primarily used as a performing arts center, but it also may be rented for other types of functions. The theatre's carpeted lobby and raked seating for 114 enhance the facility, which is equipped with theatrical lighting system and an audio control booth. The facility is owned and operated by the Town of Herndon. The Elden Street Players, Inc., is the resident theatre company.

Built in 1900 by Joseph E. Willard, the hall was presented to the Town of Fairfax in 1902. Willard, the son of a Confederate spy and a Union officer, served as lieutenant governor of Virginia and ambassador to Spain. The hall accommodates 200 for meetings and social functions.

The Patriot Center provides facilities and services for sporting, cultural and other events. The close proximity of the theatre-style seating area to the playing surface creates one of the best facilities in the country for spectator enjoyment. River Farm, home of the American Horticultural Society, is an elegant house set amidst 25 acres of lawns, gardens, meadows and woods and commands a sweeping view of the Potomac River. The property was once one of George Washington's five farms and is four miles south of Old Town Alexandria. The house, which is registered as a "Gentleman's home" by the Fairfax County Historical Society, includes a ballroom, dining room and parlor and is available for rent as a wedding site or for corporate functions.

The National Air and Space Museum's spectacular Udvar-Hazy Center is available for events of all sizes. Celebrate an event in the enormous vaulted aviation hanger, host your dinner around the SR-71 Blackbird -- the world's fastest airplane -- and be awed by the Space Shuttle Enterprise. The Hazy Center is the most unique event venue in Northern Virginia with a capacity of 2,000 for seated dinners and up to 5,000 for receptions.

The State Theatre is a newly renovated 1930's era movie theatre that has become one of the leading music venues in the DC area. Commodore Walter Brooke who served in the Virginia naval forces during the Revolutionary War constructed the original building on the site in 1777. Now situated on 14 acres of the original property, the Stone Mansion offers an elegant and refreshing alternative for a secluded office retreat, a relaxing picnic, or a festive holiday party. Wakefield Chapel, a country Gothic structure, was built in 1899 and served as a community church until 1951. The upper level of the chapel offers a quaint setting for weddings. The finished basement may be used for receptions or meetings. The building accommodates 99 people for wedding services or meetings.

Waterford at Fair Oaks is the first banquet facility of its kind in Northern Virginia. The 25,000-square-foot facility can accommodate groups as small as 40 or as large as 1,000. Four beautifully decorated ballrooms feature 17-foot ceilings and large crystal chandeliers. The private Club Room with its mahogany fireplace is an excellent place to host committee meetings, VIP luncheons or evening cocktails. The sister facility to Waterford at Fair Oaks, this 42,000-square-foot facility can accommodate groups as small as 40 or as large as 1,300. Five beautifully decorated ballrooms feature 17-foot ceilings and large crystal chandeliers, while a fountain and water wall can be found in the Grand Hallway. The private pre-function rooms with their mahogany fireplaces are excellent spaces to host committee meetings, VIP luncheons or evening cocktails. Ideally located near the junction of Interstates 95 and 495, the facility is exceptionally close to several hotels and Springfield Mall.

This grand 1805 house overlooking the Potomac River was a gift from George Washington to Nelly Custis, granddaughter of Martha Washington, and Major Lawrence Lewis, the President's nephew. Washington secured Dr. William Thornton, first architect of the U.S. Capitol, to design the house for the young couple and provided 2,000 acres of his Mount Vernon Estate. Exterior and limited interior spaces are available for rent for private functions. Special tours are provided with all events.
